Exclusive: Spike in Rare Brain Infections in Kids Raises More Questions Than Answers The number of rare, life-threatening brain abscesses in children more than tripled in Southern Nevada in 2022, triggering an investigation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which last week issued a report confirming the increase and calling for additional research to identify risk factors. Doctors in other parts of the country similarly observed a spike in the number of cases in children since 2021, according to an NBC News report. “In my 20 years’ experience, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Dr. Taryn Bragg told CNN. Bragg, an associate professor at the University of Utah, the only pediatric neurosurgeon in Nevada and the first to notice the spike, reported it to the CDC. “After March of 2022, there was just a huge increase,” in brain abscesses, Bragg said. “I was seeing large numbers of cases and that’s unusual. And the similarities in terms of the presentation of cases was striking,” Bragg said. Some media reports pointed to lowered immunity due to lockdowns during the pandemic as a possible explanation for the increase in cases. And two physicians who spoke with The Defender suggested COVID-19 vaccines could be a factor — but to date, there is no official explanation for the spike. Colds, sinus infections preceded brain abscesses in most cases The CDC reported that in 2022, there were 18 cases of intracranial abscesses reported in Clark County, Nevada, up from an average of four cases per year from 2015-2021. Most of the children in Nevada presented with colds or sinus infections that quickly progressed to abscesses forming in the brain, according to the CDC report.

Ozempic, Wegovy and all those crazy, vivid dreams: Is there a connection? If you’ve taken Ozempic for diabetes management or Wegovy for weight loss, you may have noticed some of the more common side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite. But many users have also reported a lesser-known reaction: vivid or intense dreams. The medications, both semaglutides, appear to inject some added excitement (for better or worse) into some people’s sleeping hours. One Ozempic user shared on Reddit that during the second and third weeks of taking the medication, she began having vivid dreams and nightmares. “Killing my cats, cheating on my husband, husband cheating on me. Old friends I haven’t spoken to in years in my dreams. So odd. I also had a dream so real I woke up and grabbed my phone to make sure it wasn’t real,” she said. Another person wrote, “My dream tonight was that someone was attacking people in the mall and I tried to use some kind of portal or time travel to get out of there.” Many also claim to be able to remember their dreams in startling detail after waking. “Pretty much every night I remember them now and I used to just sleep like a rock and not remember anything,” one person said.

Beware the Ozempic Burp On the November morning when the sulfur burps began, Derron Borders was welcoming prospective students at the graduate school where he works in New York. Every few minutes, no matter how hard he tried to stop, another foul-smelling cloud escaped his mouth. “Burps that taste and smell like rotten eggs—I think that’s what I typed in Google,” he told me. Eventually, Borders learned that his diabetes medication was to blame. Sulfur burps appear to be a somewhat rare side effect of semaglutide, tirzepatide, and other drugs in their class, known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. Over the past several years, these medications have become more popular under the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, as a diabetes treatment and a weight-loss drug. And as prescription numbers rise, a strange and unpleasant side effect has been growing more apparent too. GLP-1 receptor agonists are well known to cause gastrointestinal symptoms, including abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. In clinical trials of semaglutide for weight loss, 44 percent of participants experienced nausea and 31 percent had diarrhea. (The same conditions afflicted only about one-sixth of participants who received a placebo.) Burping, a.k.a. “eructation,” showed up in about 9 percent of those who got the drug, versus less than 1 percent of those who took a placebo. The FDA lists eructation as a possible side effect for semaglutide and tirzepatide alike.

Ozempic Can Cause Major Loss of Muscle Mass and Reduce Bone Density Many people taking glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) drugs like Ozempic or Wegovy (semaglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide) experience rapid weight loss. “According to a clinical trial of Ozempic, after 68 weeks on the medication, 86.4% of participants lost 5% or more of their body weight, and 69.1% lost 10% or more of their body weight.” While weight loss can bring about health benefits, losing weight rapidly can also cause a decrease in muscle mass, lessen bone density, and lower your resting metabolic rate, leading to sarcopenia — the gradual loss of muscle mass, strength, and function. “Sarcopenia affects the elderly population and typically is associated with aging. However, rapidly losing weight with GLP-1s like Ozempic or Wegovy without the proper diet and exercise can also cause sarcopenia (sometimes referred to as ‘skinny fat’) at any age, negatively affecting a person’s quality of life by reducing their stamina and ability to perform daily activities, such as easily walking up stairs,” Dr. Rekha Kumar, a practicing endocrinologist in NYC and Chief Medical Officer of Found, told Healthline. Sarcopenic obesity mimics obesity, she added, and occurs when a person’s BMITrusted Source is in the normal or low range, but their levels of lean muscle are so low that fat and bones are the only metabolically active tissue. “[It’s] important to note that a lower body weight does not always mean that a person is healthier. After some weight loss is achieved and a person reaches a plateau, it is important to assess body composition.”

Comment of The Day!

RSB,
You were talking about new “weight loss drugs”.
I was recently asked about what I thought about someone taking Ozembic for weight loss, as they knew someone that was put on it, not for Diabetes, but for weight loss, & they lost a LOT of weight.
I am a Traditional Naturopath, so I discouraged them from following their friends example, & told them that it will probably rebound on that person, as it is a medication that affects your processing of insulin, & once you go off of it, it may cause your body to have a difficult time with insulin, etc.
Scary stuff.

ABC News censors Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s criticisms against covid “vaccines” Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running for president as a Democrat in 2024 against fake president Joe Biden, participated in his first sit-down interview with the corporate-controlled media this week. And as you might expect right out of the gate, major portions of his interview were censored from viewers – and the fake news outlet admitted to this publicly – because Kennedy apparently told too much truth about Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines.” Host and interviewer Linsey Davis was blatantly hostile from the moment she started presenting Kennedy to her audience, referring to him as a member of the “political royalty” – this type of rhetoric aims to make Kennedy seem distant from average Americans and part of the “elite” most people abhor, even though his positions generally align with the middle class – and claiming that he is anti-science because of his position on vaccines. “RFK Jr. is one of the biggest voices pushing anti-vaccine rhetoric, regularly distributing misinformation and disinformation about vaccines which scientific and medical experts overwhelmingly say are safe and effective based on rigorous scientific studies,” Davis stated with super-speed. “But can a Kennedy break through in 2024, or will RFK Jr.’s controversial stances limit his appeal?”

Most Children With ADHD Aren’t Being Treated, Study Finds A new study finds that most children with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) aren’t getting treatment for the condition. The study looked at 11 ,723 children between the ages of 9 and 10. The researchers asked parents to identify whether or not their children had ADHD. The researchers found few children, identified by their parents as having ADHD, were getting either medication or mental health treatment. Among the children with ADHD, only 26.2% had ever received outpatient mental health care. Additionally, just 12.9% were presently taking ADHD medications, and only 34.8% had received either treatment, according to the studyTrusted Source, published in JAMA Network Open. The research authors found that income wasn’t correlated with getting medical treatment. The results showed children with parents who had higher salaries and a higher educational degree were less likely to receive outpatient mental health care compared to those whose parents had lower salaries and a lower educational degree. The team also found that ADHD medications were more prevalent among boys than girls.

Questions of The Day!

Hello rsb and super d! Can you speak on your opinion of selenium vs glutathione vs asthaxathine. Forgive spelling. Which one is more powerful antioxident. If you could pick only one to take.

What would you think is the best remedy for hepatitis b vaccine side effects. I also got the HPV one at the same time. I am pretty much allergic to everything. Prior to that I didn’t have any allergies whatsoever. I noticed my stomach acid disappeared and then chronic fatigue and chronic brain inflammation and then of course chronic depression. I tried chloride dioxide, silver, zinc, copper. Coffee enemas, probiotics, high dose vitamin c, infrared sauna, foliumpx, French clay, red clay, alkaline water, zeolite…countless other things. I would really appreciate if I can consulte with you. It cost me to drop out from a chemical engineering degree in junior year and now it’s 8 years after that and still didn’t get to the bottom. I tried Keto, vegetarian… I don’t know if I left any stone unturned. Mushrooms, lions mane, cordyceps, a blend of 10 or more. Pectasol… ivermectin. Sweet wormwood. Amino acids..
Fasting for 30 days. The inflammation just doesn’t want to go away. I would really appreciate speaking with you personally. I knew about you from the truth about cancer and you are one of the doctors that do honestly know what they are talking about. I tried chromium both forms. I first thought it was the missing piece because I did notice my blood sugar was dropping upon getting sick. And I took so much silica because I thought the aluminum adjuvant. Which I’m still doubtful of because it contains amorphous silica, the HPV vaccine. So I wonder if normal silica with be able to chelate that fumed form of aluminum, a true poison. Because I feel like what they say they use aluminum for is the stimulate the immune system through inflammation, in my case they gave me a lifelong inflammation. Thank you for standing and speaking the truth.

Prebiotics, Probiotics, Postbiotics: What Are They And Why Do We Need Them? If you go through any supermarket or health foods store these days, you’ll likely see lots a prebiotics and probiotics for sale. So, what exactly are these popular products? StudyFinds is breaking down everything you need to know about them and why these items are great for your gut health. Probiotics are “live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host,” according to the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics. Prebiotics, on the other hand, are not alive nor digestible by humans. However, they are sources of food for beneficial microbes — the probiotics. Meanwhile, postbiotics are metabolites of the probiotics or other microbes that you’ve ingested. Metabolites are substances necessary for metabolism. One thing that prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics have in common is that all three are essential for supporting your gut microbiome. This is the collection of the microorganisms and their genetic material that occupy your gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Both beneficial and harmful bacteria live in the human body. The biotics, which are diet-related, work to increase the beneficial microorganisms, overtaking the effects of the harmful bacteria. Each of the biotics has a distinct purpose, although the three work together.
