Monday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

For obese kids, the USPSTF recommends diet and exercise; the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends surgery and ozempic
Contrasting recommendations on the treatment of childhood obesity are highlighted between the USPSTF (United States Preventive Services Task Force) and the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics). The USPSTF, an independent panel of experts, emphasizes diet and exercise in its draft guidance. In contrast, the AAP advocates for surgery and medications, including the use of Ozempic, for children as young as 12. The article criticizes the AAP’s approach, questioning the long-term safety and efficacy of such treatments in children and suggesting that the AAP’s recommendations may not be based on sufficient evidence. The author argues for the need for more data and large, pragmatic randomized trials to ensure the safety and effectiveness of these treatments for pediatric obesity.

Special Guests James & Bear

James Arthur Ray is a New York Times bestselling author, philosopher, and consultant who has worked with over 1 million people from 146 countries through his coaching and leadership programs. He is the author of six books, including the New York Times bestseller, Harmonic Wealth, and has appeared on numerous TV shows including Oprah, Larry King and the Today Show. In 2009, he lost everything after a tragic accident and became homeless with $20M in debt. He has since rebuilt his life using the same strategies he teaches his clients. His story is told in the CNN documentary, Enlighten Us. Ray is on a mission to positively impact a minimum of one billion lives and businesses worldwide.

Bersabeh Ray was born in Iran in 1981 during the Iran-Iraq War. Growing up, her childhood disappeared into a cloud of death, violence, and instability. She experienced many traumatic events such as witnessing the military force take her parents when she was only four years old. Her family escaped to Pakistan when she was seven and eventually smuggled themselves to the United States. She faced many challenges growing up, such as not speaking English, falling into gang behavior and drug culture. Bersabeh was in abusive relationships for years before finding the self-confidence and courage to leave. In 2013 she met James Arthur Ray and she helped him rebuild his life after he lost everything. As an intuitive consultant, Bersabeh helps people heal from their past and take their power back.

In a world that often appears to be spinning out of control, there has possibly never been a time when the need for true leaders has been more urgent than today.

Leadership is certainly an enigma. Some believe that a leader is someone who has followers. Does that mean that the person with the most Twitter followers or Facebook fans is a true leader? Hardly. While followers may be part of the equation, leadership cannot be about followers alone; and it can’t be just about winning the popular vote. In fact, some of the greatest leaders in history were the least popular.

In The Business of Redemption, James Arthur Ray brings together his nearly 30 years of experience in leadership, entrepreneurship, performance, and business. He tracks his meteoric rises and epic falls, successes and failures, to suggest that leadership is about “paying the price.” Leadership is earned through battles and risk, failures and successes, resilience and grit and resourcefulness; and the courage and commitment to get back up and never give up. True leaders take Absolute Responsibility when things go badly; and they give all the credit and praise when things go famously well. True leaders are fighting for a cause that’s bigger than their own personal creature comforts, moods, and needs and that takes The Business of Redemption.

‘Significant’ Levels of Glyphosate Found in Pregnant Women Living Near Farm Fields
Pregnant women living near farm fields show significantly increased concentrations of glyphosate in their urine during periods when glyphosate is sprayed. This finding is concerning due to studies linking gestational exposure to glyphosate with reduced fetal growth and other problems. The research, involving experts from various universities and the CDC, found elevated glyphosate levels in women who did not work with or have household members working with pesticides. The study aims to understand exposure routes and suggests a link between glyphosate and health issues.

Wheat intolerance might be due to glyphosate
A scientific review suggests glyphosate may be a cause of the global rise in wheat intolerance, a condition reported by people without celiac disease. The review notes that wheat intolerance has grown with the spread of the Western diet, which includes high levels of refined carbohydrates. Glyphosate, often sprayed on non-GM wheat pre-harvest, could impact gut bacteria, causing dysbiosis, an unhealthy imbalance in gut bacterial populations. This imbalance is linked to diseases like irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, colon cancer, obesity, and mental health issues. The review calls for future long-term studies to determine the real risk posed to human health by glyphosate.

Hour 2

Low Levels of Lead Linked to 765 Million Lost IQ Points in Kids 5 and Under
A modeling study estimates that low-level lead exposure has led to 765 million lost IQ points in children under 5 years old and 5.5 million adult deaths due to cardiovascular disease. The study, which quantifies the global effect of lead poisoning, suggests that the burden of lead exposure has been significantly underestimated. The majority of the IQ loss occurred in low-income and middle-income countries. The study also highlights the multigenerational risks of lead exposure, indicating that exposure during pregnancy can lead to epigenetic changes in DNA methylation patterns in grandchildren. The article emphasizes the importance of testing for and filtering out lead in water and being mindful of lead in household products.

Special Guest Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld

Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, author of The Soros Agenda, is the Founder and President of the New York-based American Center for Democracy and the Economic Warfare Institute. Dr. Ehrenfeld’s multidisciplinary approach encompasses economic warfare and Weapons of Mass Effect (WME), including disinformation, free speech, indoctrination, propaganda, PC coercion, lawfare, corruption, money laundering, Political Islam, terrorist financing, Narco-Terrorism, the links between global criminal and radical networks and Jihadi/terrorist groups. Dr. Ehrenfeld successfully challenged a lawsuit launched by a Saudi financier of al Qaeda in the UK as a weapon to silence her and others from exposing him and his ilk. Dr. Ehrenfeld’s initiative and efforts led to the passage of New York State’s anti-libel tourism, aka “Rachel’s Law, ” and the SPEECH Act, signed into law by President Obama in August 2010. These laws protect American writers and publishers in print and on the Internet from the enforcement of foreign libel judgments in the US.

It also discusses the ideological connections between Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and their supporters in the U.S. and elsewhere. The ACD emphasizes the importance of recognizing and addressing threats to freedom and democracy, both domestically and internationally.

Algae as a surprising meat alternative and source of environmentally friendly protein
New research from the University of Exeter has identified algae as a promising and sustainable alternative to animal-derived protein for maintaining and building muscle. This study is the first to demonstrate that ingestion of commercially available algal species, such as spirulina and chlorella, supports muscle remodeling in young healthy adults. The study compared the impact of ingesting spirulina and chlorella with fungal-derived mycoprotein on blood amino acid concentrations and muscle protein synthesis rates. The results showed that protein ingestion increased blood amino acid concentrations and stimulated myofibrillar protein synthesis in both rested and exercised muscle tissue, with no significant differences between the groups. This finding suggests that algae may be an environmentally friendly alternative to animal-derived protein sources.
