Lilly Adds to Obesity Drug Production Push with $3B Investment Eli Lilly has announced a $3 billion expansion of its recently acquired manufacturing facility in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, to ramp upproduction of its popular injectable diabetes and obesity drugs, Zepbound and Mounjaro. This marks Lilly’s largest U.S. manufacturing investment outside of Indiana and is part of a broader $23 billion manufacturing initiative launched in 2020. The facility expansion will include new production capabilities, an adjacent warehouse, and additional land acquisition, creating 750 permanent jobs and employing 2,000 workers during construction. Once completed, the facility will produce medicines across various therapeutic areas and package products for patient use. The investment reflects the surging demand for GLP-1 drugs, which have faced supply shortages as their popularity grows in treating diabetes, obesity, and related conditions. Analysts project the GLP-1 market could exceed $100 billion annually in the coming decade. Competitor Novo Nordisk has also made significant investments, including acquiring facilities and expanding production capacity, to address similar shortages. The escalating demand has also led to legal disputes over compounded versions of these drugs. Lilly’s investment aims to strengthen its market position while addressing the growing global demand for innovative obesity and diabetes treatments.

Breaking: Trump announces RFK Jr. will investigate the link between vaccines and autism as the head of the HHS President-elect Donald Trump has announced that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), will lead an investigation into potential links between vaccines and autism. During a discussion at Mar-a-Lago, Trump expressed concerns about the rise in autism rates and questioned the safety of certain vaccines, despite acknowledging the benefits of others. He emphasized the importance of examining these issues thoroughly, stating that addressing the health crises plaguing the country is a priority for his administration. Kennedy’s appointment signals a significant shift in federal health policy and reflects Trump’s broader skepticism toward regulatory agencies and their relationship with pharmaceutical companies. The move has sparked both praise from vaccine skeptics and criticism from public health experts, who warn it could undermine confidence in vaccination programs and exacerbate existing health disparities.

The Power RFK Jr. Would Have Over Food If confirmed as Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would wield significant influence overU.S. food policy, particularly through oversight of the FDA and its role in shaping the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Kennedy has pledged to combat the widespread use of ultra-processed foods, harmful additives, and pesticides, citing their links to chronic diseases. His proposals include removing processed foods from school cafeterias, banning certain artificial food dyes, and regulating seed oils. While his positions align with bipartisan concerns about improving food safety and nutrition, they are expected to clash with powerful food industry lobbyists and agricultural interests. Additionally, Kennedy has criticized the FDA’s leniency on food additives and has promised stricter labeling and transparency requirements. Despite facing challenges such as limited FDA funding and industry resistance, Kennedy’s policies could reshape national dietary standards and influence public health on a broad scale. However, his controversial stance on other issues, such as vaccines, may complicate his Senate confirmation process.

US Food and Drug Administration Moves to Ban Red Food Dye The FDA has announced plans to ban Red 3, a petroleum-derived food dye used in nearly 3,000 U.S. food products, citing its carcinogenic properties and links to behavioral issues in children. While Red 3 has been banned in cosmetics since 1990, it remains prevalent in snacks and candies like Peeps and Dubble Bubble gum. Public health advocates and lawmakers, including Democrat Frank Pallone, argue that the dye serves no nutritional purpose and misleads consumers by enhancing food appearance. The FDA faces mounting pressure to adopt stricter regulations on Red 3 and other dyes banned in the European Union but still allowed in the U.S. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., slated to lead the HHS, has also criticized the FDA for permitting harmful additives in the food supply and has pledged to eliminate such substances. The proposed ban reflects growing concerns over food safety and the long-term health effects of artificial additives in American diets.

Forever Chemicals Tainting Food Supply, Destroying American Farmers Contamination from PFAS, known as “forever chemicals,” is wreaking havoc on American farmers and the food supply. These chemicals, used in industrial applications and household products like Teflon and Scotchgard, are linked to cancer and other severe health issues. PFAS contamination has infiltrated farmland through the use of biosolid sludge as fertilizer, a practice once considered a civic duty. Farmers like Fred Stone in Maine have lost their livelihoods, with contaminated milk forcing the destruction of their herds and driving them into debt. Similarly, organic farmers Adam Nordell and Johanna Davis discovered PFAS in their soil, water, and blood, leading to the closure of their farm. Forty-eight states still allow sludging, which spreads PFAS into the food chain, affecting crops, livestock, and human health. Advocacy efforts have driven change in Maine, which banned sludging and PFAS-containing products, and established a fund to help affected farmers. However, most states continue the practice, leaving farmers to bear the financial and emotional toll. Meanwhile, documents reveal that companies like 3M and DuPont knew about PFAS’s dangers for decades but concealed the information, prioritizing profits over safety. As lawsuits and state-level regulations emerge, the fight against PFAS contamination continues, with calls for federal testing and accountability growing louder.

Question of The Day!

Hi Robert and Don,
My sister had a friend die from what they called “ complications from Covid”. She knows what I think of the propaganda called Covid and seemed perplexed about it. I just replied “They just say that”. I feel this wasn’t enough of a reaction. My question is how would you reply to this to express how false this diagnosis is in order to shed some light on the ruse.
Thanks,
Dianae

USDA Orders Raw Milk Testing Under Guise Of Bird Flu Amid War On Small Farms The USDA has mandated raw milk testing under the pretense of addressing bird flu outbreaks, drawing criticism from small farm advocates who see it as an attempt to undermine local and raw dairy producers. USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack claimed the testing would safeguard public health and protect dairy herds, but critics argue it aligns with efforts to centralize food supply control, benefitting large agricultural corporations over small farms. Raw milk demand has surged nationwide as consumers seek alternatives to processed foods, angering industrial food lobbies. Public health narratives about bird flu cases at dairy farms have fueled fears, leading to intensified scrutiny of small-scale producers, including the Amish, while further empowering federal agencies to enforce stricter regulations. With Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for HHS head and his platform of “Making America Healthy Again,” corporate resistance to clean food initiatives has escalated. The article frames these measures as part of a broader “war on small farms” by processed food giants and government agencies. Advocates for small farms urge Americans to support local agriculture and adopt self-sufficient food practices to counteract corporate dominance in the national food system.
