FDA Approves New Moderna COVID Vaccine — Clinical Trials Show It Causes Serious Adverse Events in 2.7% of Recipients The FDA has granted approval for Moderna’s new COVID-19 vaccine, mNEXSPIKE, authorizing it for use in adults over 65 and individuals 12 years and older with at least one underlying condition. The approval was based on clinical trial data showing improved efficacy compared to the original Spikevax formulation—9.3% greater overall and 13.5% higher in seniors. However, scrutiny has intensified over the vaccine’s safety profile after trial data revealed that 2.7% of recipients experienced serious adverse events. This figure, flagged by medical commentator Dr. John Campbell, raised immediate concern, especially given the FDA’s history of rapid vaccine authorization during the pandemic and the absence of true placebo-controlled trials in many past cases. In response, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that Moderna has agreed to conduct a true placebo-controlled trial to better assess safety and efficacy—marking a significant departure from previous practices. Meanwhile, skepticism continues to grow amid broader shifts in vaccine policy. The CDC has reduced recommendations for children and pregnant women, and HHS recently canceled a $766 million contract for a separate Moderna bird flu vaccine. Moderna plans to release mNEXSPIKE in time for the 2025–2026 respiratory season, positioning it alongside Spikevax and its RSV vaccine, mRESVIA, despite rising concern about adverse events and a changing regulatory climate.
RFK Jr. Confirms Placebo-Controlled Trial for Moderna’s New COVID Vaccine In a statement posted to X, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmed that Moderna has agreed to conduct a true placebo-controlled trial for its newly approved COVID-19 vaccine, mNEXSPIKE. The announcement follows growing public concern over the vaccine’s safety profile, particularly data showing serious adverse events in 2.7% of clinical trial participants. Kennedy emphasized the need for rigorous, transparent science in light of previous criticism over the lack of placebo-controlled trials for earlier mRNA vaccines. The decision to move forward with a placebo-controlled study represents a significant policy shift and aims to restore public confidence in the regulatory process. Kennedy’s post also aligns with broader adjustments in federal health policy, including the cancellation of large-scale vaccine contracts and scaled-back CDC recommendations for certain demographics. The forthcoming trial is expected to provide more definitive evidence on the vaccine’s safety and efficacy, especially as Moderna prepares to distribute mNEXSPIKE during the 2025–2026 respiratory illness season. Kennedy’s statement was met with widespread engagement on the platform, with many users viewing the move as a long-overdue correction in pandemic-era oversight and a positive step toward rebuilding public trust in federal health authorities.
Special Guest: Dr. Stella Emmanuel

Biden Administration Failed to Follow Up on Thousands of Reports of Migrant Child Trafficking A recent report reveals that the Biden administration failed to investigate over 7,300 reports of human trafficking involving migrant children, according to findings from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). These reports were part of a larger backlog of more than 65,000 cases, including potentially fraudulent sponsors and other suspicious activities flagged by staff, contractors, and the children themselves. Since launching an interagency probe in February, only about 28% of the backlog has been addressed, leading to 528 investigative leads, 36 prosecutions, and a few convictions. Senator Chuck Grassley criticized the administration’s handling of the situation, alleging obstruction and negligence by HHS under former Secretary Xavier Becerra, especially in cooperating with law enforcement agencies. Whistleblower reports and investigations have implicated child sponsors in trafficking and exploitation rings, while key housing providers were also accused of systematic abuse. One major grantee, Southwest Key Programs, faced a lawsuit for years of alleged abuse before its funding was cut. Grassley is seeking updates on ongoing investigations and broader enforcement efforts to protect vulnerable migrant children, over 32,000 of whom are currently unaccounted for after missing immigration court dates.

Study Links Inflammation During Pregnancy to Higher Risk of Autism and ADHD in Children A recent study published in Biological Psychiatry: Global Open Science has identified a significant association between maternal inflammation during pregnancy and an increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), in children. The research analyzed plasma samples from 555 pregnant women, measuring levels of 92 inflammatory proteins at 24 weeks of gestation. The findings revealed that higher concentrations of these proteins were linked to a 2.76-fold increase in the likelihood of the child developing autism and a 57% higher chance of exhibiting inattentive symptoms of ADHD by age 10. Notably, specific proteins such as vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), interleukin-12B, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 were among those most strongly associated with these outcomes. The study underscores the potential impact of maternal immune activation on fetal brain development, suggesting that inflammation-related pathways during pregnancy could play a crucial role in the etiology of neurodevelopmental disorders. These insights highlight the importance of monitoring and managing inflammatory conditions during pregnancy to mitigate potential risks to child neurodevelopment. Further research is warranted to explore targeted interventions that could reduce inflammation during pregnancy and improve long-term neurological outcomes for offspring.
Question of The Day!
Hi RSB! Thanks for all you do. Do you think people in very good health can benefit from taking Cardio Miracle and Folium? Or should they only be taken as needed? I’ve heard that overusing antioxidants can be detrimental. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Molly
What is your opinion on DMSO? Would you take it orally? I heard it is good for so many things. Autoimmune diseases, lyme disease, arthritis etc.
