Friday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

Guest Host Joni Abbott

Joni Abbott has been dubbed “The First Lady of Natural News”. As a veteran in radio broadcasting, Joni has combined her love for radio and natural health. Homegrown Health is a podcast that pertains to everything “family”. Topics will include a variety of subjects, mostly home-based and that affect today’s families: home-birthing, breastfeeding, baby-wearing, parental rights, vaccine education, home-schooling, home-gardening, raising “homegrown” children, alternative healing modalities, inquiry into the many roads of natural health and healing, women’s health and overall lively discussion and interviews that will encourage, empower, strengthen and enlighten families world-wide.  Joni Abbott is a mother to four beautiful children. Joni fell in love with radio broadcasting, at the age of 17 and pursued a career in the industry. After her first natural birth, she also fell in love with natural health and has been on that journey for 13 years…and still learning! She took an 8 year hiatus from broadcasting and studio work to stay at-home with the little ones. During this time, she took the opportunity to delve deeper into studying her passion and applying natural health techniques in her home.

The Free Speech Scare It was a strange experience watching the House hearing in which Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was testifying. The topic was censorship and how and to what extent federal government agencies under two administrations muscled social media companies to take down posts, ban users, and throttle content. The majority made its case. What was strange was the minority reaction throughout. They tried to shut down RFK. They moved to go to executive session so that the public could not hear the proceedings. The effort failed. Then they shouted over his words when they were questioning him. They wildly smeared him and defamed him. They even began with an attempt to block him from speaking at all, and 8 Democrats voted to support that. This was a hearing on censorship and they were trying to censor him. It only made the point. It became so awful that RFK was compelled to give a short tutorial on the importance of free speech as an essential right, without which all other rights and freedoms are in jeopardy. Even those words he could barely speak given the rancor in the room. It’s fair to say that free speech, even as a core principle, is in grave trouble. We cannot even get a consensus on the basics. It seemed to viewers that RFK was the adult in the room. Put other ways, he was the preacher of fidelity in the brothel, the keeper of memory in a room full of amnesiacs, the practitioner of sanity in the sanatorium, or, as Mencken might say, the hurler of a dead cat into the temple.

Special Guest Barbara Loe Fisher

Barbara Loe Fisher is co-founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), a non-profit charity she founded with parents of vaccine injured children in 1982 to prevent vaccine injuries and deaths through public education. For the past four decades, she has led a national, grassroots movement and public information campaign to institute vaccine safety and informed consent protections in public health policies and laws. She has researched, analyzed and publicly articulated the science, policy, law, ethics and politics of vaccination to become one of the world’s leading non-medical, consumer advocacy experts on vaccination and human rights.

She is co-author of the seminal book DPT: A Shot in the Dark (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich 1985; Warner 1986; Avery/Putnam 1991) and author of The Guide to Reforming Vaccine Policy & Law (2014, 2017, 2022); The Emerging Risks of Live Virus and Virus Vectored Vaccines: Vaccine Strain Virus Infection, Shedding and Transmission (2014); Vaccines, Autism & Chronic Inflammation: The New Epidemic (2008) and The Consumer’s Guide to Childhood Vaccines (1997). She is founder and executive editor of the weekly online journal, The Vaccine Reaction, and a video blog commentator for the NVIC Newsletter and Mercola Newsletter. Her long public record of vaccine safety and choice advocacy was featured in the 2011 award winning film documentary THE GREATER GOOD and the 2020 movie 1986: The Act.

Her 1985 book, DPT: A Shot in the Dark, which she co-authored with Harris Coulter, Ph.D., was the first major, well documented critique of America’s mass vaccination system calling for safety reforms and the human right to informed consent to vaccination. She worked with Congress to secure vaccine safety provisions in the historic National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 and has served as a consumer representative on federal vaccine advisory and public engagement committees, including the National Vaccine Advisory Committee (1988-1991); the Institute of Medicine Vaccine Safety Forum (1995-1998) where she helped coordinate five public workshops on vaccine safety issues; the FDA Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (1999-2002); the Vaccine Policy Analysis Collaborative (2002-2005); and the Vaccine Safety Writing Group (2009).

It Is Time to Declare Our Independence from the Vaccinators On July 4, 2023, it will have been 247 years since the Declaration of Independence was drafted by Thomas Jefferson and signed by delegates of 13 American colonies formally declaring independence from political control by the King of England.1 “Light and liberty go together” said Jefferson2 and, in his final letter to John Adams before he and Adams both died on July 4, 1826, Jefferson predicted that no despot or tyrannical empire in the future would be able to crush the human spirit of resistance that guards liberty. A fierce proponent of individual rights,3 Jefferson said, “the flames kindled on the 4th of July 1776 have spread over too much of the globe to be extinguished by the feeble engines of despotism. On the contrary, they will consume these engines, and all who work them.” Was Jefferson’s prediction right? Or, as one of the earliest and most influential proponents of smallpox inoculation,6 could he never have imagined that the scientific and medical professions he loved so well7 would one day forge lucrative global business partnerships with industry and government and create a Public Health Empire that has become a much greater threat to liberty than the monarchy he and his fellow revolutionaries rebelled against in 1776?

Hour 2

Special Guest – Michael Boldin

83 Republicans vote against amendment to reinstate pilots fired for refusing COVID-19 vaccine House lawmakers on Thursday rejected an amendment that would have required airlines to reinstate pilots who were fired or stepped down because of vaccine mandates. The amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill, introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and offered on the floor by Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., failed 141-298 after 83 Republicans voted with Democrats against it. Only one House Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, voted for the measure. Nearly all major U.S. airlines implemented vaccine mandates during the coronavirus pandemic in accordance with President Biden’s 2021 executive order requiring federal contractors to get the shots. The policies were controversial and prompted legal challenges from pilots, including an unsuccessful attempt by the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) to block the mandate from taking effect. “Hundreds of pilots were forced out of their livelihoods over the past several years for their refusal to get COVID vaccine,” Greene claimed Wednesday when she filed her amendment. “They were denied medical freedom to decide whether they should take the experimental COVID vaccine or lose their job.”

Nationwide AI Mass Surveillance System Takes Root In Another State A national mass surveillance system boosted by artificial intelligence (AI) took root in another state. The town council of Jackson, Wyoming, agreed in a close vote last month to install the 30 solar-powered license plate recognition (LPR) cameras along their streets and traffic lights, which feeds into a centralized surveillance system managed by the private company Flock Safety. The town is the first in the state of Wyoming to install the cameras. Council members who agreed to the measure expressed reluctance with their decision. Councilman Jonathan Schechter indicated his belief that the cameras marked a negative trend down an undesirable path. “I don’t like this particular arc of this particular part of history,” said Schechter. “I’m screaming ‘stop’ as I vote ‘yes.’” The cameras in Jackson are part of the “Falcon” line, which sends instant alerts to law enforcement. There are different models of the AI surveillance technology, each named after birds: Raven, an audio device for detecting sounds of crime such as gunshots, breaking glass, sawing metal, and screeching tires; Wing, which combs through thousands of hours of footage for specific vehicle identifiers for police; and Condor, which provides a live feed with zooming capabilities. The model names match the company name, Flock Safety, which calls its AI-powered mass surveillance system “TALON.”

You can say no to a TSA face scan. But even a senator had trouble On his way to catch a flight, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) was asked to have his photo taken by a facial recognition machine at airport security. The Transportation Security Administration has been testing use of facial recognition software to verify travelers’ identification at some airports. Use of the technology is voluntary, the TSA has told the public and Congress. If you decline, a TSA agent is supposed to verify your identification, as we have done at airport security for years. When Merkley said no to the face scan at Washington’s Reagan National Airport, he was told it would cause a significant delay, a spokeswoman for the senator said. There was no delay. The spokeswoman said the senator showed his photo ID to the TSA agent and cleared security. Is facial recognition technology really voluntary if a United States senator has trouble saying no? TSA quietly rolled out facial recognition technology at over a dozen airports across the country. Tech columnist Geoffrey Fowler shares what to expect. (Video: Monica Rodman/The Washington Post) The TSA is using facial recognition technology for a limited purpose that the agency says is accurate. As flying reaches record highs again this summer, the technology could improve safety and efficiency with fewer risks than controversial uses of facial recognition such as police trying to identify crime suspects from vast numbers of images.

Amazon’s palm payment tech is coming to every Whole Foods in the US Amazon’s palm payment technology will be a common sight at every US Whole Foods store by the end of the year. The tech giant will roll out Amazon One across over 500 Whole Foods stores by the end of 2023, it said in a blog post. Amazon One is already in about 200 Whole Foods locations, Amazon said. “This means Whole Foods Market customers who choose to use Amazon One will no longer need their wallet or even a phone to pay—they can simply hover their palm over an Amazon One device,” Amazon said in the post. Customers who link their Amazon One account with their Prime details will also get discounts when they use the payment method, the company said. Amazon’s technology links a user’s credit card or other payment information to their unique palm print. Besides Whole Foods, Amazon has also used the technology at its Amazon Go convenience stores. It has also licensed it for use to other retail operations, such as Panera Bread and the concession stands at Coors Field in Denver. The palm-scanning technology has received criticism from privacy advocates. They say that Amazon is collecting biometric data that could be misused. Amazon says that customers have to opt-in to using One, and the data from those who do is “securely collected.”

Sen. Sanders Forbids Dr. Paul from Offering Amendment to Reveal Royalties of Federal Employees Today, at a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) committee meeting, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Chairman of the HELP Committee, forbid U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) from offering an amendment that would require federal employees to reveal financial disclosures and royalty payments. Below are Dr. Paul’s remarks as prepared: “Some employees of the federal government are receiving royalties paid out by companies, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, who often have business before the agencies that oversee them. Without this amendment, taxpayers, and Congress itself are left in the dark when trying to assess conflicts of interest. “According to OpenTheBooks, who sued for the information and received redacted documents, about 2,400 NIH scientists received more than $300 million in royalty payments during the last decade. That’s an average royalty payment of $135,000. But NIH redacted key details and we don’t know who is making payments, how much each payment amounted to, or why the payment was made. “Even Dr. Fauci, who received at least two dozen royalty payments through 2021, refused to tell Congress what he received in royalties. We know how much his salary was—over $400,000 a year—but to this day, we don’t know who paid Dr. Fauci in royalties, or how much they paid him, or even for what they paid him. “Shouldn’t we care about conflicts of interest? Shouldn’t we stop and think that perhaps the people that dole out government grants will be tempted to reward those companies that give them royalties. The time for royalty transparency is long overdue.” You can read the amendment HERE and watch Dr. Paul’s remarks HERE.
