Thursday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Hour 1
Special Guest Jonathan Emord
In this Sacred Fire of Liberty edition of The Robert Scott Bell Show, I’m joined by Jonathan Emord as we dive into the pressing issues threatening our liberties. We kick off the show by celebrating the launch of the Long COVID Masterclass—an event we’ve all been waiting for—where I sat down with some of the brightest minds, including Jonathan, to dissect the constitutional challenges we’ve faced and chart a course forward. We also give a nod to the upcoming Trinity Health Freedom Expo, a gathering that’s all about empowering people to take control of their health.
But we don’t stop there. We take on the insanity coming out of the Democratic National Convention, where we see everything from mobile abortion clinics to a disturbing rise in anti-Israel rhetoric. The moral decay is real, and we’re here to expose it. Jonathan and I break down how these radical agendas are eroding the values that built this nation, and we don’t mince words when it comes to calling out the dangerous path we’re on.
We wrap up by shining a light on the economic destruction caused by government overreach and misguided policies like price controls. History has shown us where this leads, and it’s not pretty. We’re here to remind everyone that standing firm on our foundational principles is the only way to preserve liberty and economic stability in these challenging times. The power to heal—and to protect our freedoms—is still yours.
For the past 37 years, Jonathan W. Emord has litigated against the federal bureaucracy, winning over and over again. He knows how to defeat it. Jonathan graduated from the University of Illinois (BA, political science and history, 1982) and DePaul University College of Law (JD, 1985). He served as an attorney in the Federal Communications Commission during the Reagan administration. A leading constitutional law and litigation expert, he is the author of five critically acclaimed books. Today Magazine. He frequently appears on national radio and television programs. He is married to Sheryl Emord, and they have two children, twins Justice and Angelica. New Report: State Department Funded Fact-checkers to Censor ‘Lawful Speech’ A new congressional report reveals that the U.S. State Department funded fact-checking organizations that censored lawful speech on social media platforms. According to the report, the Department’s Global Engagement Center (GEC) promoted tech startups focused on misinformation detection, enabling domestic censorship. Fact-checkers, such as the International Fact-Checking Network and NewsGuard, were involved in assessing and moderating online content. These actions, which also included collaboration with foreign governments with strict internet speech laws, infringed on Americans’ First Amendment rights and disadvantaged small media outlets. NewsGuard reportedly received federal funds to create a product that identifies and catalogs misinformation online, influencing content moderation by tech companies and government agencies. Critics argue that these fact-checking initiatives were used to control narratives rather than objectively verify facts. Legal battles are underway, with lawsuits accusing the Biden administration of conspiring with social media platforms to censor free speech. The report calls for an end to government funding for companies engaged in domestic press interference and questions the constitutionality of these efforts.
Hillary Clinton Calls for Americans to Be ‘Criminally Charged’ for Free Speech that Sounds Like ‘Russian Propaganda’ During a recent interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, former Secretary of StateHillary Clinton suggested that Americans who engage in speech resembling Russian propaganda should face criminal charges. Clinton expressed concerns over individuals unknowingly spreading pro-Russian narratives and called for a stricter approach to deter such activities. The discussion touched on recent actions by the Biden administration against alleged Russian efforts to influence U.S. elections, particularly through media outlets and podcasters. Clinton also criticized Republican members of Congress for repeating what she termed “Russian talking points” and emphasized the importance of investigating foreign interference attempts by adversaries like Russia, China, and Iran. She urged for greater scrutiny and action to prevent these influences from shaping American public opinion and voting behavior. Clinton’s remarks have sparked controversy, with critics arguing that such measures could infringe on free speech rights.
158 Dems vote against bill to deport illegal immigrants who commit sex crimes The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, which mandates the deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes. The bill received bipartisan support, passing 266-158, with all present Republicans and 51 Democrats voting in favor. The legislation also includes provisions to declare illegal immigrants convicted of or admitting to domestic violence and sex-related crimes as inadmissible to the U.S. Proponents argue that the bill protects women and children from dangerous offenders, while critics, including many Democrats, denounced the measure as xenophobic and claimed it scapegoats immigrants. Democratic opposition was led by Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal, who argued that the bill uses fear-mongering about immigrants instead of addressing broader immigration reform. This bill is part of the GOP’s broader focus on addressing issues tied to the border crisis, including previous legislation aimed at deporting migrants who assault law enforcement officers, which also gained some Democratic support.

DEO: Kamala Harris Said Legal Gun Possession Doesn’t Keep Police from Searching Owners’ Homes to ‘Check’ During a 2007 press conference, then-San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harrisemphasized that police can still enter homes to check on the responsible handling of firearms, even if the gun ownership is legal. Harris highlighted the importance of gun storage laws, noting that merely possessing a gun legally does not prevent police from ensuring that it is stored safely. She also pointed out that the National Rifle Association (NRA) would likely oppose such measures, which she argued were necessary to prevent guns from ending up in the hands of individuals who could misuse them. Harris’s stance raised concerns regarding the balance between Second Amendment rights, which protect the right to keep and bear arms, and Fourth Amendment rights, which guard against unreasonable searches. Her remarks have drawn criticism, particularly from gun rights advocates who view them as an infringement on constitutional protections.
Booker Introduces Bill to Eliminate Toxins from School Lunches and Expand Support for Regenerative Farmers Senator Cory Booker has introduced the Safe School Meals Act (SSMA), a bill aimed at protecting children from harmful toxins present in school meals. The legislation seeks to ban the use of hazardous chemicals, such as glyphosate, heavy metals, PFAS, phthalates, and bisphenols in school meal ingredients and packaging. It also directs the FDA to set strict limits on heavy metals in school meals to ensure they are safe for children. The bill further encourages schools to purchase food from organic and regenerative farmers by providing grants and making certification affordable for small producers. The act is part of a broader push to reduce children’s exposure to harmful substances and improve the nutritional quality of school meals. Advocacy groups and educators have praised the bill, noting its potential to transform school food systems and support healthier, safer food for children. Endorsing organizations include the Organic Farmers Association, American Federation of Teachers, and Environmental Working Group, all of whom support its efforts to reform food safety in schools.

rug Companies Are Embracing Direct-To-Consumer Sales. That’s A Win For Patients Direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales of prescription drugs, now being embraced by companies like Pfizer and Eli Lilly, mark asignificant shift in the pharmaceutical industry. This move allows patients to purchase essential medications directly from manufacturers, bypassing middlemen like pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) who have historically inflated costs. Eli Lilly’s LillyDirect and Pfizer’s PfizerForAll portals enable consumers to buy medicines like diabetes and migraine treatments at lower prices while offering options for virtual consultations. These platforms aim to increase competition and transparency in the drug market, giving patients better access and lower prices. PBMs have controlled 80% of the market and used their power to negotiate significant rebates with drug manufacturers. However, these savings often do not benefit consumers directly. By selling directly to consumers, pharmaceutical companies can reduce costs and improve the patient experience. This trend also challenges the dominance of PBMs, making it a win for patients seeking more affordable and accessible healthcare options.

Why Does Everyone Seem to Have IBS Now? Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is gaining widespread attention, particularly through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where people are openly discussing their symptoms. IBS is a functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Experts note that more people are recognizing these symptoms and seeking medical advice, which may explain the perceived increase in IBS cases. Though no definitive cause for IBS has been identified, stress, diet, and disruptions in the gut microbiome are commonly associated with the condition. The COVID-19 pandemic, with its heightened stress levels and post-infection gastrointestinal complications, may also have contributed to the rise in IBS diagnoses. Despite not being life-threatening, IBS can significantly affect quality of life. While there’s no cure, treatments include dietary adjustments, medications, and mind-body therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy and meditation. Experts emphasize the importance of finding personalized treatment strategies to manage symptoms and improve daily functioning.
