Thursday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

Hour 1

Special Guest Jonathan Emord

In this Sacred Fire of Liberty edition of The Robert Scott Bell Show, I’m joined by Jonathan Emord as we dive into the pressing issues threatening our liberties. We kick off the show by celebrating the launch of the Long COVID Masterclass—an event we’ve all been waiting for—where I sat down with some of the brightest minds, including Jonathan, to dissect the constitutional challenges we’ve faced and chart a course forward. We also give a nod to the upcoming Trinity Health Freedom Expo, a gathering that’s all about empowering people to take control of their health.

But we don’t stop there. We take on the insanity coming out of the Democratic National Convention, where we see everything from mobile abortion clinics to a disturbing rise in anti-Israel rhetoric. The moral decay is real, and we’re here to expose it. Jonathan and I break down how these radical agendas are eroding the values that built this nation, and we don’t mince words when it comes to calling out the dangerous path we’re on.

We wrap up by shining a light on the economic destruction caused by government overreach and misguided policies like price controls. History has shown us where this leads, and it’s not pretty. We’re here to remind everyone that standing firm on our foundational principles is the only way to preserve liberty and economic stability in these challenging times. The power to heal—and to protect our freedoms—is still yours.

For the past 37 years, Jonathan W. Emord has litigated against the federal bureaucracy, winning over and over again. Ron Paul calls Jonathan “an expert in constitutional theory and history” and “an expert litigatorwith a long string of legal victories over the federal bureaucracy.” George Noory calls him “a Knight in Shining Armor” and “a warrior out to save our rights.” Congressmen Dan Burton and John Doolittle describe him as “an intellectual warrior for the rights and freedoms of people in America.” Jonathan has a unique, detailed knowledge of the federal bureaucracy, the deep state. He knows how to defeat it. Jonathan graduated from the University of Illinois (BA, political science and history, 1982) and DePaul University College of Law (JD, 1985). He served as an attorney in the Federal Communications Commission during the Reagan administration. A leading constitutional law and litigation expert, he is the author of five critically acclaimed books. He has won more cases against the Food and Drug Administration in federal court than any other attorney in American history, earning him the nickname “FDA Dragon Slayer.” He is a columnist for Townhall.com, PJ Media.com, Americangreatness.com, and the U.S.A. Today Magazine. He frequently appears on national radio and television programs. He is married to Sheryl Emord, and they have two children, twins Justice and Angelica. DoD Directive 5240.01: The Stealth Expansion of Military Intelligence Powers in Life-or-Death Domestic Scenarios A recent update to DoD Directive 5240.01 expands the U.S. military’s ability to assist law enforcement in domestic scenarios, including the use of lethal force in certain cases involving imminent threats or national security emergencies. Reissued on September 27, 2024, the directive allows military intelligence to support civilian law enforcement, which raises concerns about civil liberties, privacy rights, and the potential erosion of the Posse Comitatus Act, which limits military involvement in domestic affairs. While the directive explicitly forbids assassination, it does permit lethal interventions in situations deemed to present imminent danger. High-level approval is required, although military Component Heads may act for up to 72 hours without prior authorization in time-sensitive circumstances. Critics argue that this directive risks blurring the lines between military and civilian roles, especially amid increasing concerns about the militarization of domestic law enforcement. As the 2024 election approaches, the timing of this update has raised alarm about how these expanded powers could be used during periods of civil unrest, with potential impacts on Constitutional protections like the right to protest and free speech.

Prop One: A Trojan Horse of Epic Proportions Prop One, a proposed amendment to the New York State Constitution, is being promoted as an “Equal Rights Amendment,” but critics argue it’s a dangerousmeasure that will drastically alter life in the state. The amendment claims to protect against discrimination based on factors like race, gender identity, and reproductive healthcare. However, opponents like the Archdiocese of New York and legal experts warn that it could weaken parental rights, expand benefits to non-citizens, and allow illegal immigrants to claim constitutional protections, including the right to vote. Critics also argue that Prop One could eliminate single-sex spaces, such as female-only sports teams and locker rooms, and chill free speech. The amendment is seen as part of a broader push by radical politicians in New York, similar to failed policies like No-Cash-Bail and Clean Slate. If passed, Prop One could have national implications, with similar amendments likely to follow in other states. Opponents urge voters to reject it in the upcoming general election, arguing that its vague wording hides a deeper agenda aimed at undermining fundamental rights.

‘60 Minutes’ Caught Editing Kamala’s Interview Responses A recent interview between Vice President Kamala Harris and 60 Minutes has come under scrutiny after revelations that CBS edited several of Harris’s responses, raising questions about media integrity and bias. The interview, conducted by Bill Whitaker, featured Harris struggling to answer questions on key issues such as U.S. support for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the administration’s economic policies. One of the most glaring examples was when Harris gave a disjointed response to a question about Israel. According to footage circulated online before the interview aired, Harris’s original response was unclear and filled with vague statements. However, the version that aired on CBS replaced her rambling answer with a more coherent statement, leading to accusations that the media outlet manipulated the interview to present Harris in a more favorable light. Critics argue that this type of selective editing undermines journalistic integrity and shapes public perception, particularly in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election. The controversy has sparked debates about whether mainstream media is prioritizing political narratives over impartial reporting, with calls for greater transparency in the editing of political interviews.

Kamala Harris Gets Stuck on Repeat in Teleprompter Glitch Vice President Kamala Harris found herself in an awkward situation during a rally in Michigan when a teleprompterglitch caused her to repeat the phrase “32 days” multiple times while discussing the countdown to Election Day. The gaffe occurred as Harris was addressing the crowd about former President Donald Trump’s manufacturing policies and the Biden administration’s efforts to bolster job growth. However, as the teleprompter malfunctioned, Harris appeared flustered and repeatedly said “32 days” while trying to regain her flow. The incident quickly made rounds on social media, with critics, particularly from the Trump camp, mocking Harris’s reliance on the teleprompter and highlighting her struggles to maintain composure without it. Trump supporters, including the Trump War Room Twitter account, used the moment to draw attention to what they describe as Harris’s inability to speak confidently in unscripted situations. The teleprompter failure comes at a crucial time for the Biden-Harris campaign, as the 2024 presidential election heats up. The mishap has sparked renewed criticism of Harris’s communication skills and raised questions about her preparedness as a key figure in the administration. While her supporters downplay the significance of the incident, it has provided fresh material for her opponents ahead of the election.

Americans Grow Increasingly Dependent on Government Payments A new report from the Economic Innovation Group (EIG) reveals that government transfers now account for 18% of Americans’ personal income, up from 8% in 1970. This growing dependence on government payments includes Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, driven by the aging population, as well as expanded safety net programs. The report shows that in 2022, more than half of U.S. counties received a quarter or more of their income from government transfers. Economic downturns have exacerbated the trend, as transfer payments surged after recessions and never fully receded. Social Security and Medicare, tied to the aging baby boomer population, are the primary drivers of this growth. Medicaid has also grown due to rising medical costs and expansions under Obamacare. While some argue that these programs provide essential support, there are concerns that this dependence promotes economic stagnation and creates a client-patron relationship between citizens and the government. Critics warn that increased reliance on transfer payments could harm economic dynamism and independence, as Americans come to prioritize government aid over entrepreneurial risk-taking and business creation.

Hour 2

Government Can Fix neither Food nor Farm The article by Joel Salatin critiques the reliance on government intervention to solve the nation’s health, food, and farm issues. Salatin argues that while proposals likereforming crop subsidies or limiting junk food spending through SNAP may sound appealing, they are ineffective because government bureaucracy, with its deep entanglements, cannot deliver meaningful change. He points out that large-scale government-driven solutions, such as food pyramids and health education programs, often perpetuate the very problems they claim to address, like unhealthy diets and environmental damage. Instead, Salatin advocates for a free-market approach, where individuals have the right to buy and sell food without government interference. He also calls for the complete removal of federal involvement in healthcare, education, and welfare, arguing that personal responsibility and private choices would lead to more efficient and ethical outcomes. According to Salatin, real change will only occur when people take back control over their food and health decisions, moving away from government-driven mandates that have historically favored large corporations and failed to protect the public’s best interests.

Ghee Tested for Toxic Phthalates – Buying Guide A recent investigation by Mamavation has revealed alarming levels of phthalates, hormone-disrupting chemicals, in several popular ghee brands. Phthalates, commonly found in plastics and fragrances, were detected in all seven ghee products tested by an EPA-certified laboratory, with contamination levels ranging from 105 parts per billion (ppb) to 2,702 ppb. The study categorized the products into three groups based on contamination levels: “Not Our Favorite Ghees” with the highest contamination (over 600 ppb), “Better Ghees” with intermediate contamination (200-600 ppb), and “Best Ghees” with the least contamination (below 200 ppb). Carrington Farms Organic Ghee was found to have the highest level of phthalates at 2,702 ppb. Phthalates have been linked to numerous health issues, including reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, and developmental problems. Despite the widespread contamination, no ghee tested had zero phthalates, raising concerns about the safety of these products in the food supply. Experts emphasize the need for collective action from manufacturers to identify and eliminate sources of contamination in ghee production and the food industry more broadly.

World Mental Health Day 2024 The theme for World Mental Health Day 2024 is “Mental Health at Work,” with a focus on the connection between workplace environments and mental well-being. The World HealthOrganization (WHO) highlights the critical role that safe, supportive workplaces play in protecting mental health, noting that harmful working conditions—such as discrimination, harassment, and poor job security—pose significant risks to mental well-being. With 60% of the global population employed, the initiative stresses the need for governments, employers, and workers’ organizations to collaborate on creating healthy, inclusive workplaces. WHO advocates for evidence-based interventions that reduce mental health risks in the workplace and provide support for those with mental health conditions. By improving work conditions, offering reasonable accommodations, and reducing stigma, the campaign aims to foster environments where all workers can thrive. Governments are urged to take responsibility in promoting mental health at work through policies and legislation that prioritize well-being. The campaign emphasizes that healthier work environments can reduce stress, boost productivity, and improve overall quality of life.

People who embrace scientific and spiritual beliefs show higher life satisfaction, study finds A large-scale study led by Brunel University of London found that individuals who embrace both scientific and spiritual beliefs tend to experience greater life satisfaction and well-being. The research surveyed more than 55,000 people from various global religious and non-religious backgrounds, revealing that the perceived conflict between science and religion is more of a Western phenomenon. In non-Western countries, especially in Asia and Africa, people often view science and religion as compatible, and this harmony is linked to higher levels of optimism, purpose, and mental health. The study also found that while religious beliefs have a stronger overall impact on well-being than scientific beliefs, the greatest boost comes from combining both. This pattern was most prominent among Hindus, Muslims, and people from Asian countries. Researchers suggest that reducing tensions between science and religion could have significant public health benefits, as improving mental health can lead to better physical health outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of integrating scientific and spiritual perspectives to promote a more balanced and fulfilling approach to life.
