Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

Hour 1

The Betrayal of the People Trish Dennis contends that the COVID‑19 response revealed a profound failure of mainstream media to fulfill their moral obligation to inform and challenge authority, arguing that media outlets went beyond echoing official messaging to actively promote and defend it. She reflects on how news organizations such as the BBC, Sky, ITV, and Channel 4 did more than report—they sanctified lockdowns, vaccine mandates, school closures, and masking policies, effectively blocking dissent and amplifying fear. Her critique focuses on prominent personalities like Emily Maitlis, James O’Brien, and Andrew Neil; celebrated for hard-hitting journalism in other contexts, they reportedly fell silent or ridiculed dissenting voices during the pandemic. Dennis asserts that this conformity was not passive but proactive, as journalists “actively helped to enforce” a unified narrative, censoring medical experts, parents, and voices advocating alternative policies. She underscores journalistic cowardice and collusion, warning that such failure corrodes public trust and undermines the integrity of democratic discourse. The piece concludes with a call for intentional disengagement from corporate media and a turn toward decentralized, independent journalism as a means to restore trust, reclaim accountability, and rebuild a media landscape that truly holds power to account. Dennis frames the emergence of independent journalists, podcasters, and writers as the positive consequence of this betrayal—a new lifeblood of public discourse rising from the ruins of mainstream failure.

Hour 2

‘Their Rubber Stamp Is Reckless’: After AAP Endorses Weight-Loss Drugs for Kids, Prescriptions Soar After the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) updated its 2023 guidelines to include GLP‑1 medications such as Wegovy and Saxenda for pediatric obesity management, prescriptions among children aged 8–17 surged 65% immediately, followed by growth at approximately 5% per month, according to an analysis of over 310,000 pediatric health records. Prior to the guideline shift, metformin was the dominant pharmacological option, but GLP‑1 prescriptions have since eclipsed it. The AAP’s endorsement appears to have triggered widespread changes in prescribing behaviors, even as the data shows limited evidence that accompanying nutritional counseling increased at a similar pace. Critics argue the rapid rise in drug use may be premature given the lack of long-term pediatric safety data. Pediatric specialists—such as Dr. Michelle Perro—warn of serious risks, including impaired growth, muscle loss, rebound weight gain after discontinuation, side effects like gastrointestinal distress, and escalation of healthcare costs, especially for Medicaid. With an annual price tag of about $12,000 per child, the medications could strain public programs. Supporters maintain that these drugs may offer vital tools for adolescents with severe obesity when lifestyle interventions have failed, yet critics worry the AAP has essentially issued a “rubber stamp” amid unresolved concerns about safety, efficacy, and overmedicalization.

Special Guest: Carol Alt

Carol Alt, famously dubbed “The Face” by the fashion world, rose to prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s as one of the original supermodels. She garnered international acclaim as Playboy’s “Most Beautiful Woman in the World” and garnered Life magazine’s nod as the “Next Million Dollar Face” in 1980. Alt graced over 700 magazine covers, twice appeared on the SI Swimsuit Edition, and helped launch a cottage industry in modeling merchandise—posters, calendars, and workout videos—setting the standard for future supermodels.

Shifting seamlessly into entertainment and entrepreneurship, Carol has an extensive acting résumé—appearing in over 45 feature films, TV series, and mini-series, including roles in Woody Allen’s I Love Rome, Howard Stern’s Private Parts, and Amazon miniseries produced by Peter Benchley. I’m taking lots of vitamin C and coffee enemas seem to give the most relief.
Thank you so much
Joan

Dr Bell
I reached out to you during covid when I had 2 patients failing from depleted copper, due to being on zinc for 2 years. Within hours the patients improved. Within 24 hours they felt 75-80%. Knowing that their bodies needed much more time to heal, I implemented your protocols.
Dr. Kelly
