Sunday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

In this special Sunday Conversation, I sat down with Dr. Richard Drucker, president of the American Naturopathic Medical Association and founder of Drucker Labs, during the ANMA’s 44th annual gathering. What started as a chance meeting at the banquet turned into a powerful exchange about the roots, challenges, and future of naturopathic medicine. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that Dr. Drucker’s life and work are about building bridges—between people, between traditions, and between modern science and natural wisdom.

Dr. Drucker walked us through the history of the ANMA, where he has served as president since 2000. His vision has been to create a warm, welcoming community where naturopathic doctors and healers from all over the world can gather, learn, and share. He highlighted the ongoing tension between traditional naturopathy—rooted in nature, homeopathy, and “first, do no harm”—and a newer faction of naturopaths who lean into allopathic methods like vaccinations and pharmaceuticals. Rather than attacking, he emphasized the importance of love, openness, and common ground, while warning that state-level attempts to regulate traditional naturopathy could strangle its authenticity.

We dove into the big-picture fight for health freedom, contrasting the monopolistic mindset of government-backed medicine with the cooperative spirit of true healing. Dr. Drucker and I agreed that medicine, in all its forms, must remain free—not captured by licensure schemes that strip people of choice. He reminded us that traditional naturopathy is older than government itself, and should not be forced into the mold of bureaucratic control. The ANMA’s goal is to model freedom and unity, proving that healing thrives when it’s inclusive, not exclusive.

Our conversation then turned personal. Dr. Drucker shared pieces of his remarkable life story, including the early loss of his mother, years of hardship that left him eating from garbage cans, and later a devastating autoimmune condition that mirrored his mother’s. Told by white-coated doctors that he had only months to live, he refused to accept it. A cassette tape of Linus Pauling before Congress changed his trajectory, opening his eyes to the role of organic trace minerals in health. That revelation set him on a path of study, healing, and eventually leadership in naturopathy.

We closed by discussing his forthcoming book, Carbon Cure, which explores how carbon-based minerals could be the missing link in restoring true health. Dr. Drucker explained the critical distinction between living, carbon-bound minerals and inert forms that the body can’t use, a subject we only scratched the surface of in this first conversation. It’s clear his journey—from near death to healing, from the streets to the presidency of ANMA—has given him a rare perspective on resilience, faith, and freedom. And this was just part one. We’ll be continuing the discussion, because the power to heal—and the wisdom to guide it—is far from finished.
